There are different ways to order prescriptions from your medical practice - these processes may vary between practices but in general the following methods are used :

Order directly from the medical practice using their prescription ordering phone numbers / email systems or handing a medication re-order slip directly into the practice.

Order via our pharmacy - please note we prefer NOT TO accept phone in requests to us, but you can hand in your repeat re-order slip to us and we will then pass your order to your medical practice for them to process.

There are two ways of ordering from our pharmacy :

1 - Hand in your completed re-order slips to our pharmacy - if you hand them in before 10am on a weekday they will be sent to the GP surgeries we cover the same day - if after 10am they go the following working day.

2 - Use our NHS accredited secure app - we use a company called Healthera who provide the app to place your order.

If you are already using the Airth Pharmacy Healthera app you do not have to click on the blue button. Click HERE for details of what the app can do for you or click the button below to sign up for the app

Medical practices require 2-3 working days to process your prescription requests. We then have to go and collect these paper prescriptions from them and begin to process them. Prescriptions typically begin to be ready after 3pm on the day we receive them - if you come before this there is a high chance that they will not be ready for you.

Customers running short of medicines, and then expecting medical practices or pharmacies to fix the shortages at short notice, is the single most time consuming thing we all need to avoid. This puts pressure on all of us and slows down processing of all the prescriptions we are processing and reduces the time we all have for the tasks we are trained for.

Running out of medications should be avoided at all costs. We will always try to help but any regular shortages of medications from a person needs a solution other than others solving the problem for them.

Order only what you need and in plenty of time.

Most practices agree that ordering your medicines with around 7 days supply left is the best method, if you need them earlier than this (due to going on holiday for example) then a note attached to your medication request to explain this to the medical practice should avoid delays or confusion with your request.

The medical practices we visit daily (Monday to Friday) are
