We use a medication ordering app. provided by Healthera - an NHS accredited system. This allows you to add your medications to an app and order from it directly which means you can schedule ordering so you should never run out of your medicines (but you have to load the information in correctly for this to work properly). To use this service please ask in the pharmacy for details.

Vaccination services - we are accredited to administer Covid and Flu vaccinations - these are allowed whilst the NHS is running a vaccination campaign and please note it is ONLY these two injections we can administer - other ones such as Shingles, RSV, B12 etc. are NOT available through community pharmacy.

We use a booking system to ensure we have vaccines ready for you and currently do not offer a "walk-in" service. Vaccines are provided by the Health Board for us to use. The NHS has a funding problem and we feel using a booking system avoids us requesting vaccines we then have to discard (especially Covid vaccines). If we only use one Covid vaccine then the other four doses in the vial have to be discarded if not used within a few hours of the first one. Using appointments means we can limit wastage which we all agree is the best way to use the NHS resource.

We will always try to accommodate appointment requests to fit in with your requests if we can.

Click on this link to book a vaccination appointment. The current vaccination program finishes in community pharmacies on 31/1/2025 - as a result of this we are reducing our vaccine stocks to avoid losses to the NHS so please call us for advice as we will still vaccinate you but appointments are limited in the last few weeks of this current campaign - if we are able to vaccinate you then you can book via this link.

Medication compliance trays - we do offer these but only when we consider there are no other options for people to take medicines at the correct times. This service is non-NHS and we have a limit on the numbers we can process. We need to make sure that all other options to fix medication compliance have been tried before we agree to this service. Many other pharmacies have stopped offering this service and whilst we are not at this point yet we feel it has to be an exceptional situation for us to accept new requests for this service. But if you feel compliance with medication is an issue we can offer many years of experience in ideas on how to overcome this problem.

Blood pressure checks - we can check you blood pressure free of charge - if you are already on medication for high blood pressure your GP will already be doing this and we tend not to offer to do this when the GP is involved in managing your care already - it take about 10 minutes in total to get two readings.

Blood sugar checks - we can check you blood sugar levels free of charge - this is to assess your risk of diabetes when combined with other factors such as age, family history, weight and exercise you take. It takes 5 minutes in total with a drop of blood sample taken from your finger.

Inhaler checks - when we ask people to show us how they use inhalers a majority of people have poor (or terrible) technique. Not using your inhaler properly means you are not getting the maximum benefit from your medication and your breathing is not as good as it should be - quite a problem. We can show you the correct techniques to get the most from your inhalers.

Medication delivery - as above, if no other options are available, we will attempt to help with this issue - it is also non-NHS funded and we control it carefully to avoid it being used when "wanted" but not "needed". We fully appreciate how important this is to some people hence the need to manage our finite resource to allow us to protect the most vulnerable with this important service.

OTC medicines (Over the Counter) - we have a comprehensive range of medicines you can purchase to treat almost all conditions we encounter in the pharmacy - if we don't keep it in stock we can usually get it within 24 hours for you. Remember ONLY pharmacies and pharmacy staff can offer the full range of medicines on offer in Scotland - take professional advice on the BEST medicines you can have for a condition by only using medicines recommended for you at a pharmacy. Supermarket shelves don't know if your medicine is the best choice for you or if it will cause problems with medicines you already take - why take the chance ?

Toiletries - we keep a small range of pharmacy / chemist type range of toiletries and are happy to try and order any brands you may wish to use.
